Europe VAT 1.0.20 Release Notes
Europe VAT 1.0.20 contains fixes and improvements. It is recommended that you upgrade as soon as possible.
Enhancements
- Any attempt to validate a VAT number ti show the valid/invalid icon on the store front or as an admin editing a customer account is now logged in the database.
- A limit of 3 attempts to show valid/invalid status on the store front or admin area is allowed per user per 5 minute window. This only applies to the user interface, automated checks when editing a VAT number are still performed.
- The jQuery code in the install guide which is added to the store theme has been improved
Fixes
- If the VIES validation service is unavailable the module would throw a PHP fatal error which could take the store front offline under some conditions. If VIES is not available there is no longer a PHP fatal error.
Upgrade Instructions
- If you have made modifications to the TEMPLATE FILE found in __template_files take a backup of this file before moving to step 2
- Delete the "europe_vat" directory and replace it with the directory found in the downloaded ZIP file
- IMPORTANT Review the module configuration, define your country code. Failure to add this will stop the module from working correctly.
- If you took a backup of a custom TEMPLATE FILE, put this back into the _template_files directory, overwrite the existing file.
- the jQuery code which is added to your store theme has changed. The old code must be removed from your store theme and the new code added. Review items 6 and 8 from the install guide, remove the existing code from your theme and add the new code.
